The story is about an orphan named Pete who meets the mysterious dragon Elliott, who helps him escape from a life of enslavement. He is then adopted by Nora, the daughter of the lighthouse keeper, whose boyfriend has gone missing at sea prior to this. Nora watches the sea from the lighthouse every day, hoping for a miracle... The friendship between Pete and Elliott, Nora's love for her boyfriend, and her compassion for Pete intertwine to create this heartwarming musical film. This film is a combination of live-action and animation, with the animated part being the dragon Elliott. Compared to previous Disney live-action animated masterpieces like "Song of the South," "The Parent Trap," "Mary Poppins," and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," the animated live-action segments are usually brief, but in this film, Elliott frequently appears alongside the actors, especially when Pete often sits on his belly, playing and sharing his feelings, showcasing an even higher level of technique in combining live-action and animation!
