The unfortunate childhood experiences led the blind girl A-Ling (played by Shima Iwashita) to lose her father at an early age. At the age of six, due to the hardships of life, her mother abandoned A-Ling to seek another path, leaving her all alone, unable to see any light or hope in the darkness. Fortunately, A-Ling met the kind Mr. Saito, who helped her enter a school for blind girls to learn singing. With her focus and hard work, A-Ling made quick progress and, at last, fulfilled her dream of becoming a singer, allowing her to survive in this cold world through her own strength. Despite being involved with various men, A-Ling's heart was filled with loneliness; she hoped to find a warm embrace that belonged solely to her. With this desire, A-Ling met Tsuru-kawa. What A-Ling did not expect was that, thinking she could start a stable life with Tsuru-kawa, she would have to face even more sadness and setbacks.
