The renowned director and master of violence, Takeshi Kitano (played by Takeshi Kitano), suddenly grows tired of making gangster films and announces that he will no longer create them, instead exploring other genres. Takeshi Kitano begins to try his hand at various films. He shoots over a dozen movies, including family dramas in the style of Yasujirō Ozu, tear-jerking love stories, nostalgic films reflecting the social landscape of the 1950s, horror films, ninja films, and science fiction, all of which fail for different reasons, leading his directing career to hit a bottleneck that requires reflection.
