During the shogunate era, the executioner Bai Yidao (played by Tomisaburo Wakayama) carries out orders from the upper ranks by beheading a young local lord. Upon returning, he dreams of his wife and daughter being murdered, leading to a sense of foreboding. A subordinate of Yagyu visits Bai Yidao and, seeing the spirit tablet set up for the beheaded, secretly informs the Yagyu family of alleged treason. Upon learning of the plot, Bai Yidao kills the messenger and escapes with his only son Daigorou (played by Akihiro Tomikawa). From then on, they roam the land, living as bounty hunters, known as "The Wolf with a Coat." One day, Bai Yidao receives a new mission: the elder of the Koyamada domain, Sugimura, schemes to assassinate the lord's heir. Upon hearing the news, elder Ichiage requests Bai Yidao to thwart the assassination plan. Bai Yidao and Daigorou arrive at the canyon hot spring, waiting for their prey to appear...
