This film recreates the tragic life of Frances, a highly talented actress who, unwilling to be manipulated by her boss and serve as a money-making machine for Hollywood executives, was sidelined and unable to land even a minor role. The various hardships of life transformed her personality, and she ultimately found herself forcibly committed to a mental institution after a confrontation with the police, where she endured eight years of inhuman treatment. She fought back and screamed, only to have her pituitary gland removed as a result. In 1970, she passed away from cancer.
