In 1887, Quan (Jackie Chan) serves as a sheriff in a Western town and suddenly receives a letter from home, shocked to learn that his father, who was guarding the imperial seal, has been killed and the seal is missing. His sister Ling (Fan Bingbing) has tracked the criminal all the way to England. Thus, Quan hurriedly heads to New York to find his old friend Roy (Owen Wilson). Quan originally planned to use the royal gold he obtained last time to help himself, but the flamboyant and boastful Roy has already lost the gold in high-stakes gambling and is now a down-and-out waiter who occasionally sells his body. Although Quan feels helpless, he still brings Roy with him to England. Ling, who arrived in England earlier, has been tracking their enemy, Resben, for days. Hidden within him is a major conspiracy involving China and England. It turns out that Wu Chao (Donnie Yen), the emperor’s half-brother born out of wedlock, has teamed up with Resben to seize the throne by stealing the imperial seal and launching a coup. Quan, who has rushed over, vows to stop Wu Chao at all costs for revenge and family honor.
