In the Warring States period, the young ninja Ochi Yoshitan, disillusioned by the ruthless treatment of the Takeda forces, wandered through various countries harboring dreams of becoming the lord of a single castle. However, Yoshitan was being hunted by the Takeda's top ninja, Suzume Saburōza. Apart from Saburōza, there was also Dōko Harima, who was targeting Yoshitan. By chance, they were advised by a rustic samurai resembling a mountain monkey to hide among the horse transport team. This horse transport team, led by Ariyoshi Sōsuke and commanded by Isogi, was engaged in the profession of transporting rice and salt. The rustic samurai, who had actually come to arrange for the transport of the latest weapon, the "Tanegashima," turned out to be Kinoshita Tōkichirō, a retainer of the Oda clan. With Tōkichirō's skillful persuasion, Ariyoshi's group agreed to undertake the transport. Additionally, Tōkichirō managed to seduce the Murakami Naval Forces' strategist Hyakuraku and Taki-hime, securing their agreement for the transport as well. On the day the Tanegashima was brought in, Takeda's ninjas attacked the Murakami Navy's ship, only to find that the cargo was filled with stones. Meanwhile, Ariyoshi's group also set out with their cargo. Takeda’s ninjas pursued them, and upon realizing they had been deceived, the Murakami Navy also pursued. Intense battles unfolded at various locations, and just when it seemed that the Takeda ninjas would be annihilated, Tōkichirō, leading Hachisuka Ko roku, appeared. It was revealed that the cargo was fake, and the real goods had already been transported by Ko roku and his companions. Upon realizing this, Yoshitan disregarded Tōkichirō's advice and vanished over the plains with Isogi.
