Ryo (played by Hidetaka Yoshioka) has a conflict with his father at home and travels to a small town. There, he meets the cinema manager, Ikon (played by Toshiyuki Nishida), and stays to work. Also working at the cinema is Mr. Takashi (played by Kunihiko Tanaka), the projectionist, and he gets to know Yaeko (played by Yuko Tanaka), who runs a coffee shop. Ikon has always liked Yaeko, but unfortunately, he never gets his wish as Yaeko leaves the town.
