On a stormy night, a drunken Bruce accidentally runs over his acquaintance Paul with a snow plow. He buries the corpse in the snow and escapes into the remote mountain forest. In the freezing cold, Bruce manages to find a cabin to rest in, but the cabin's owner and his family arrive unexpectedly. Bruce spends a night in the tool shed and hastily flees the next day. To eliminate any future threats, Bruce digs up Paul’s body, breaks the thin ice on the river, and throws the body into the water. After packing his bags at home, Bruce returns to hide in the woods.
