A competition film at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, based on a true story, directed by Michael McGowan, starring James Cromwell and Genieve Bujold. The eraser in my mind gradually wipes away your memory of me, but my love for you will never give up. 89-year-old Craig has been married to his wife, Irene, for 60 years. Their long-time home has deteriorated over time due to sun and rain, becoming uninhabitable. Craig, having inherited his father's shipbuilding skills and hands-on spirit, decides to build a new home for his wife who suffers from dementia. However, times have changed, and the old construction methods he employs no longer meet current regulations, making him a target for a pedantic government official who issues multiple stop-work orders. As his wife's condition worsens, Craig faces the threat of a forced court appearance and even imprisonment, leading him to make one final decision... In real life, Craig is quite confident and has a great sense of humor. He takes pride in having farmed all his life while caring for his wife and seven children. His energetic conversation makes it hard to believe he is over 90 years old. The director described him as: "He is the kind of person who knows everything, knows how to build bridges, pave roads, and even construct houses... His soul is independent, and he deeply inspired me."
