Queen Mary of Scotland (played by Clémence Poésy) lived in a foreign land until she turned 18, after which she returned to Scotland to inherit the throne. It was only then that the naive young girl discovered that royal life, beyond the visible luxury and grandeur, was also fraught with countless underhanded dealings. After experiencing a few setbacks, Mary quickly matured and gradually transformed into a truly respected queen, but in the process, she lost too much. To stabilize her power, Mary was forced to lend herself to an English Earl, but soon after, she encountered the handsome captain of her guard (played by Paul Nicholls), and sparks of love ignited between them. While Queen Mary was immersed in her sweet romance, an astonishing conspiracy was brewing within the palace.
