On the night of June 2, 1996, during a storm, a man fell to his death from a high-end apartment building in Arakawa, Tokyo. The apartment manager, Sano Toshiaki (played by Kishibe Ittoku), and resident Sato Yoshio (played by Owadate Nobuya), as the first discoverers, reported to the police. According to the surveillance footage and the testimony of another resident, Kasai Mieko (played by Kumamoto Masami), the family in room 2025 has a significant connection to this incident. Unexpectedly, three other corpses were found in room 2025, none of whom were family members or had any blood relation to each other. After three months of investigation with no clues, people from all walks of life who are intricately linked to the case share their versions of the truth on camera, and countless fragments gradually piece together the full picture of this bizarre murder case... This film is adapted from the classic novel of the same name by mystery writer Miyabe Miyuki, who won the Naoki Prize. It features as many as 107 well-known actors. Originally produced by WOWOW as a television movie, it was broadcast on the channel and months later was released in theaters.
