The new work by the renowned Hungarian director György Palfi, who previously stirred discussions with "Taxidermia" and "The Last Cry," is adapted from the eponymous work of Polish science fiction author Stanisław Lem. Set against the backdrop of Iron Curtain history, it tells the story of military competition during the Cold War. A Hungarian man accidentally sees a documentary, from which he glimpses the figure of his father, who abandoned his family and disappeared for many years. Carrying old photos and footage, he travels to the United States to find his father. What should have been a heartwarming reunion becomes increasingly unsettling. Unexpectedly uncovering a military conspiracy that is crucial to history, he also becomes entangled in the U.S. military's secret extraterrestrial research, revealing that the shadow of the Cold War still hangs over the lives of ordinary people. The director, particularly skilled in incorporating elements of madness, adds a science fiction plot this time, expressing the pursuit and dedication to humanity and familial bonds.
