Awakened, Smaug wreaks havoc in Lake-town, ultimately being killed by the human Bard (Luke Evans). Thorin Oakenshield's (Richard Armitage) long-cherished wish is finally fulfilled as the Lonely Mountain returns to the dwarves. However, this dwarf king seems obsessed with Smaug's greed and the mountain of gold, frantically searching for the Arkenstone that symbolizes the throne. He not only breaks the promise to pay Lake-town but also rejects the Elvenking's (Lee Pace) request for their national treasure, leading to war among the three races on the brink of erupting. Meanwhile, the pale orc Azog leads a mighty army toward the Lonely Mountain. The gray wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) intervenes, while Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), seen by Thorin as his only friend, holds the key to the fate of Middle-earth. The Battle of the Five Armies is about to break out! This film is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's original work of the same name and is the final installment of The Hobbit series.
