In the years following World War II, the Mexican American community in Los Angeles developed a lowrider culture. After a law was passed in California, drivers were able to hydraulically modify their cars to lower their bodies below the wheel rims, allowing for adjustment of the chassis height. The artistic designs were very unique, primarily expressing Spanish culture. The film tells the story of a Los Angeles street artist and his family, who are deeply immersed in lowrider culture. Danny (Gabriel Chavarria) is a Mexican street artist living with his family in East Los Angeles. He uses his graffiti skills to paint the hood of a lowrider, helping his brother prepare for the upcoming Resurrection Park lowrider competition.
