The most advanced alien civilization in the galaxy attempts to establish diplomatic relations with Earth, but a series of misunderstandings lead to unexpected events. The alien messenger's spaceship crashes into the atmosphere and ultimately lands in a world park in a city in China. Geng Hao (played by Huang Bo), who makes a living performing monkey tricks, and his friend Dafei (played by Shen Teng), a liquor dealer, mistakenly take the injured alien for a monkey from South America. With their own monkey injured, Geng Hao begins to train this so-called "Congo monkey." Due to losing their superpower-enhancing equipment, the alien's abilities cannot be displayed and must endure the antics of these two foolish Earthlings. Nevertheless, the alien still tries to reclaim its equipment. Meanwhile, a superpower that previously failed to communicate with the alien messenger searches the world based on the information left behind by the alien. The fate of Earth is heading in an unpredictable direction... This film is inspired by Liu Cixin's science fiction novel "Country Teacher."
