In 1950, a civil war broke out between the North and South Korean governments. Shortly after, the United States announced its participation in the war and seized the opportunity to bomb our northeastern region, additionally sending fleets to blockade the Taiwan Strait to hinder the unification of the Chinese nation. In a critical moment of survival, our senior leadership conducted a series of careful discussions and simulations, sending Premier Zhou Enlai to Moscow to request support from Stalin.
