The story takes place in the early 1990s, where Wang Baoyin (played by Xiao Haoran), a driver for the Cultural Relics Bureau, faces numerous setbacks and struggles to get a permanent position. In a moment of desperation, he unexpectedly discovers the relics left by his long-missing father: a dragon vein map and a badge with a special emblem. His father had always been a source of conflict within Wang Baoyin, and this opportunity drives him, eager to prove himself, to investigate his father's disappearance. Supported by his childhood friend Qiang (played by Bao Xiaoping) and the descendant of a mountain-moving priest, Zheng Xin (played by Hu Xue'er), the three embark on a perilous journey westward. In the vast desert, a bone-chilling sandstorm nearly claims their lives; however, they are saved by local natives Alabai and Mili (played by Liu Yin), only to quickly be mistaken for intruders and pursued with various traps and strategies. Meanwhile, a tomb-raiding gang led by Chu Jiangping (played by Li Zhongqi) repeatedly breaks into Wang Baoyin's house, making an appearance in the region as well. After a series of life-and-death escapes, they finally find the entrance to the divine realm, and the mysterious visions that have haunted Wang Baoyin's dreams suddenly manifest before him: an underground lake filled with spores, the faint shadow of an evil goddess (played by Cao Yucheng), and a gigantic Hachiman ship suspended in mid-air...
