In the battle of the Eight Trigrams Formation, the Sun-Liu allied forces decisively defeated Cao Cao's troops. Cao Cao (played by Zhang Fengyi) is deeply worried about this, and the deaths and casualties among the northern soldiers due to local conditions have aggravated his chronic headaches. Fortunately, his maid, Li Ji (played by Xiao Songjia), is there to care for him. Sun Shangxiang (played by Zhao Wei) disguises herself to infiltrate Cao Cao's camp, gaining the favor of the sergeant (played by Tong Dawei) to steal military intelligence. To adapt to naval warfare, Cao Cao adopts the advice of the defected generals Cai Mao and Zhang Yun from Jingzhou to connect the warships with iron chains. Subsequently, Cao Cao’s strategist Jiang Gan (played by Shi Xiaohong)主动ly seeks to visit his old friend Zhou Yu (played by Tony Leung) to gather intelligence. Zhou Yu cleverly uses this to his advantage, pretends to be drunk and leaks military secrets, allowing Jiang Gan to return with false information, which leads to Cao Cao mistakenly killing Cai Mao and Zhang Yun in a fit of anger. Cao Cao throws the bodies of soldiers who died from the plague into the river, labeling them "ghost soldiers," intending to disrupt the morale of the Sun-Liu alliance. Seeing this, Xiao Qiao (played by Lin Chi-ling) decides to infiltrate Cao's camp at night to convince him to retreat. Everything seems ready, but the wind direction is unfavorable, so Zhou Yu sends Lu Su (played by Hou Yong) to seek help from Zhuge Liang (played by Takeshi Kaneshiro)...
