After graduating, four college classmates—Birdy (Wang Yeming), Molly (Ni Shujun), Qiqi (Chen Xiangqi), and Xiaoming (Wang Weiming)—are working in different fields. While their outward appearances may differ, they all experience the awkward phase of transitioning from students to members of society. Among them, Qiqi finds it hardest to navigate her relationships, caught between her friend Molly and her boyfriend Xiaoming. She can only strive silently, hoping that the careers and lives of her friend and boyfriend improve, leading to better dynamics among the three, but instead faces misunderstandings from both sides. Molly's brother-in-law (Yan Hongya), after concluding that life consists of a series of jokes in various combinations, turns to Confucius from over two thousand years ago. However, when he believes he has regained his spiritual home, he experiences the same helplessness as Qiqi—they are both deemed as merely talented performers. The absurdities and paradoxes of life are thus revealed; an act is only considered "real and credible" when it aligns with the sentiments of onlookers (the audience).
