A bank robbery comedy adapted from the French film "Les Fugitifs," masterfully showcases the theme of how creations can lead to unexpected situations through a cleverly structured story. Nick Nolte plays an ex-convict who encounters the bumbling robber Martin Short at a bank, leading him to be taken hostage. This causes the police to mistakenly believe he has returned to a life of crime, forcing him to go on the run. As they spend time together, Nolte discovers that Short has a poignant backstory as an underdog, and a warm bond develops between him and Short's young daughter, Sarah Roque, melting his proud heart.
