The story follows the protagonist, martial artist Su Can, who accidentally suffers an injury and loses his memory while suppressing the Heavenly Gate Sect that deals in opium. He ends up homeless on the streets as the beggar Su Qier and is taken in by a mother and daughter, Jin Zhi and Xiao Guo. When opium paste leaks, Xiao Guo is captured by the Heavenly Gate Sect.
