John (Russell Crowe) is a literature teacher in Pittsburgh who once had a happy family of three, but one day the police suddenly arrive and arrest his wife Laura (Elizabeth Banks) for murder. Almost all the evidence points to Laura as the suspected murderer of her boss, and even the lawyer believes that there is no hope of appeal. Overwhelmed by pressure, Laura even attempts suicide. John firmly believes in his wife's innocence; he doesn't need her explanation; he trusts her, and that's enough. In order to rescue his wife, John begins to plan a prison break. He consults an expert who has successfully escaped prison multiple times and carefully observes every corner of the Pittsburgh prison, with a prison escape plan slowly taking shape. However, the prison suddenly prepares to transfer Laura ahead of schedule, leaving John with only three days. As selling their house to raise funds proves unfeasible, John decides to take the risk and rob a drug dealer. This normally gentle man transforms into a fierce warrior to save his wife!
