This drama tells the story of the Imperial Guard Yuan Hao, who is captured by being framed by his sworn brother Yang Sun during a mission. His sworn brother Qi Xiaohao attempts to rescue him but gets ambushed, resulting in the loss of an arm and becoming a discarded pawn. Yuan Hao escapes but is approached by He Boqing. Because his biological brother, Yuan Han, the captain of the Six Doors, is investigating him, he firmly refuses He Boqing's overtures. He Boqing's attempt to frame Yuan Han fails, and he secretly captures Qi Xiaohao, torturing him to coerce Yuan Hao.
