Charles Bronson (played by Tom Hardy) was born into an upper-class family and has had uncontrollable violent tendencies since childhood. Unlike others, Bronson did not complete his education and work. After marrying in 1974, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for armed robbery of a post office. From then on, Bronson abandoned his birth name, Michael, and became the notorious British prison villain. With a strong desire for recognition, Bronson used violence as a means to fame, refusing to submit to any authority in prison while earning the admiration of fellow inmates and media attention. Bronson boasts himself as "Britain's most violent prisoner," and his prison life consisted of continuous solitary confinement and frequent transfers between prisons... After his release, Bronson entered the underground boxing scene but soon found himself incarcerated again. The story of the prison thug Bronson continues... This film is based on a true story.
