Adapted from the German epic poem "Nibelungenlied" and the Norse "Volsunga Saga." The blacksmith Siegfried (played by Benno Fürmann) meets the Icelandic queen Brunhild (played by Christina Ricci) after a meteor falls, and they fall in love. He then kills a wicked dragon and bathes in its blood to become invulnerable. However, a spot on his back covered by a leaf does not touch the dragon's blood, becoming his weakness. Siegfried is recognized by the king for slaying the dragon and is promised the king's princess sister, Alicia (played by Alicia Witt), but Siegfried is already in love. To achieve his goal, the king drugs him to make him forget the queen and fall in love with the princess. The king asks him to assist Queen Brunhild of Iceland, so he wears a shapeshifting helmet, disguising himself as the king to defeat Brunhild. Heartbroken by his "betrayal," Brunhild is forced to marry the king. The two couples, each with their own secrets, marry on the same day. Will Siegfried ultimately remember the queen? What fate awaits the four?
