A young boy named Yves and his family tragically encounter a car accident during their journey, leaving only eight-year-old Yves as the sole survivor, who suffers from severe psychological trauma due to the incident. Psychologist Elaine rushes to the hospital to comfort him upon hearing the news. The boy's plight deeply pains Elaine and reminds her of her own past experiences. Because Yves is unwilling to live with his grandmother and aunt, Elaine takes him home to continue his psychological treatment, where her daughters also show him great care, allowing Yves to feel a glimpse of familial warmth again. As Elaine interacts more with Yves, she discovers that he has witnessed domestic violence and conflict firsthand, and gradually, Yves reveals the truth about the car accident.
