The skilled Blade (Danny Trejo) is on the hunt for the criminal organization known as the Cartel when his girlfriend and partner, ICE agent Satana (Jessica Alba), is accidentally killed. Blade is then sentenced to hang as the murderer. At a critical moment, the U.S. President secretly summons him to Washington, instructing Blade to travel to the U.S.-Mexico border to investigate whether revolutionary armed group leader Marcos Mendez (Demián Bichir) plans to attack the United States. If evidence is found, he is to be eliminated. Blade first makes contact with Miss San Antonio (Amber Heard), and then infiltrates Mexico to meet Mendez. At this point, Mendez seems to have a split personality; he connects the control system of a missile to his own heart, so if he is killed, the missile will automatically launch towards Washington, and his head is worth tens of millions, forcing Blade to take on the task of protecting Mendez’s life. The road back to the U.S. is fraught with dangers and unforeseen conspiracies await him...
