Lin Wang (voiced by Song Xiaoyu) is a lively and adorable little elephant happily living in the jungles along the Yunnan-Myanmar border. Lin Wang's best friend is a Chinese boy named Wang Zai (voiced by Li Yao), and their friendship is very deep. Lin Wang, who enjoys being playful and mischievous, often gets into trouble and brings laughter, yet remains beloved by the other animals. The good times don't last long; war breaks out, and the iron hooves of the Japanese shatter the tranquility of the jungle. Lin Wang and Wang Zai are both captured by the Japanese and forced into labor. In the army, Lin Wang meets many other elephants from different places who share the same tragic fate, and they decide to unite and fight back. The arrival of the Chinese Expeditionary Force ends Lin Wang and Wang Zai's miserable lives, with Lin Wang joining the army as a war elephant.
