In Boston, USA, the three sacred treasures capable of sealing the eight-headed serpent Yato, namely the Yasakani no Magatama, the Yata no Kagami, and the Kusanagi sword, are on display. CIA agent Mai Shiranui (played by Li Meiqi) is trying to extract the secrets of the three sacred treasures from Yagami Iori (played by Li Weiyin), the heir of the Yagami family. Unexpectedly, Lukar bursts into the exhibition hall, steals the three sacred treasures, and escapes into another dimension. Chizuru (played by Ye Fanghua), the heir of the Kagura family, reveals that the stolen Kusanagi sword is a fake and commissions Mai Shiranui to seek help from the Kusanagi family. After stealing the sacred treasures, Lukar lures KOF fighters into another dimension, intending to become the King of Fighters. Meanwhile, Mai Shiranui and Yagami Iori join forces with Kusanagi Kyo, the heir of the Kusanagi family, to stop Lukar's plan.
