In the first film of the series "Mechanic," the top assassin Arthur (played by Jason Statham), who fakes his own death, has retired and is living a peaceful life as an ordinary person. In what appears to be an accidental event, Arthur's close friend Mei (played by Michelle Yeoh) asks him to rescue a mysterious woman, Gina (played by Jessica Alba), who has been repeatedly beaten. Unexpectedly, the love-immune Arthur falls in love with Gina, disrupting his tranquil life. After five years of a peaceful life away from conflict, Arthur believes he has bid farewell to his past as an assassin; however, fate is relentless, and someone has been secretly watching him, bringing his mysterious past to light. As a child, he was captured by arms dealers along with a group of children and was trained to handle guns and kill. Unable to bear it, Arthur escaped from the arms dealers, but one of his childhood friends grew up to become the successor of the arms dealer, the film's main antagonist. This villain finds Arthur and kidnaps his beloved Gina, coercing him into assassinating three of the most dangerous figures in the world. To protect himself and his loved one, Arthur is forced back into the assassin life, needing to complete a series of impossible assassination tasks within a limited time. Knowing the villain's brutality, Arthur realizes he won’t be spared. After successfully assassinating two targets, Arthur forms an alliance with the third target—another major arms dealer leader, Adams (played by Tommy Lee Jones)—to take down their common enemy. Will Arthur and Gina escape together, and can their peaceful life continue...?
