In a highly mechanized future, Miles, a senior technician from the Pioneers Group, discovers multiple instances of self-programming in the S.A.R. military combat robots he developed. Meanwhile, an elite marine squad is assigned to the Pioneers Group's robot training base for live-fire exercises. Miles follows the squad to this remote island and finds that communications have been cut off. Led by Pucas, the squad engages in combat with small wave robots, and at night, a sentry is killed by a robot, turning a simple training exercise into a deadly battle. The island is precisely the training ground for the S.A.R. robots, and Miles soon realizes that the one issuing the live-fire exercise order is a robot on the island...
