Lawrence (played by Tony Leung) is a highly accomplished neurosurgeon, and Paul (played by Emil Chow) is his colleague and friend. Unfortunately, Paul’s girlfriend Jackie (played by Lee Ka Hing) suffers a brain injury in an accident and becomes a vegetable. Day after day, Paul stays by his comatose girlfriend's side, hoping for her sudden awakening. One day, Jackie finally wakes up, but it is Lawrence who brings her back to consciousness.
