David (played by Zhang Zhilin), suffering from a terminal illness, loses control while driving under the influence and crashes into the adjacent lane. Off-duty police officer Sam (played by Louis Koo) and his wife Ah Si (played by Sheren Tang) manage to steer away just in time before the collision. David's car collides head-on with a vehicle following Sam's, resulting in the innocent death of the driver Patrick.
