Genghis Khan (played by Tu Men) is 62 years old, sweeping through Central Asia and West Asia, galloping into Europe. Faced with a rampant plague, the brave Mongolian soldiers are continuously falling on the battlefield, and the once murderous Khan suddenly senses the approach of death. Like all emperors of the past, he dreams of the elixir of immortality. The immortal Qiu Chuji (played by Zhao Youliang), rumored to be 300 years old and understanding life and death, is secluded in the Kunyu Mountains of Wendeng. The emperors of Jin and Song have sent envoys to request his presence, but he turned them down. Upon hearing this, Genghis Khan is determined to meet him and orders Liu Zhonglu (played by Geng Le) to bring Qiu Chuji back, regardless of the distance. Qiu Chuji calculates that he will not return from this journey, but in order to spare the common people from the suffering of war, he resolutely sets off with a coffin. His beloved disciple Zhao Daoan (played by Yu Shaoqun), unwilling to let his master suffer alone in the West, decides to accompany him. Along the way, a Khitan woman (played by Li Xiaoran), who is bent on avenging her husband’s death at the hands of Genghis Khan, changes her identity three times, hoping to persuade Qiu Chuji to take her along to the West. After experiencing life-and-death dangers, they finally arrive at Baluwan to meet Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan asks Qiu Chuji for the elixir of immortality, but Qiu Chuji bluntly states, "There is only the way of hygiene, not an elixir of immortality." After several rounds of calm mental battle, Genghis Khan understands the truth that "Heaven favors kindness and hates evil; cherishing the lives of others is extending one's own life." He then teaches the Mongolian soldiers about hygiene practices, significantly reducing the plague. Enlightened, Genghis Khan halts his conquests and returns east, appointing Qiu Chuji as Grand Master.
