Harry (Jared Leto) and Marion (Jennifer Connelly) are in love and dream of opening a clothing store, envisioning a beautiful tomorrow. However, they cannot escape drugs and think about making their first pot of gold by selling them. Harry's mother is a complete television addict, with the biggest dream of appearing on TV, for which she, regardless of her age, swallows weight-loss pills. Due to the drug components in those pills, she gradually becomes addicted. Harry's friend Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) is also a drug addict, who joins the mafia to make big money. They work hard for their dreams but gradually sink deeper into drug addiction. Harry's arm is amputated due to an infection from injecting drugs; Marion sells her body and her self-respect for drugs; Harry's mother ultimately ends up in a mental hospital, tortured; Tyrone gets imprisoned. When the vision blurs and the dream calls from afar, how should the lost soothe their souls?
