Bill Marks (Liam Neeson) is an air marshal tasked with security on a flight to London. During the flight, he receives a text message from an unknown number, with the sender seemingly aware of his every move, demanding that he transfer $150 million to a secret account, or a passenger will be killed every 20 minutes. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Bill, with the help of flight attendant Nancy (Michelle Dockery) and passenger Jen (Julianne Moore), attempts to uncover the identity of the sender. However, the situation escalates beyond his expectations, and Bill, who initially aimed to save everyone, inadvertently causes several deaths and finds himself viewed as a hijacker by other passengers.
