Detective Li Guoqiang (played by Yu Wenle) shot and killed the murderous king Chen Fulai, but was also critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds. After recuperating for forty-nine days in the hospital, he is informed upon discharge that he has been reassigned to the miscellaneous department, solely because there were some supernatural phenomena in his testimony that science cannot explain. In the miscellaneous department, Li Guoqiang meets Inspector Huang (played by Zheng Yijian), a slightly overweight and alcoholic middle-aged man who tells him that, unlike other departments, the miscellaneous department specifically deals with so-called "supernatural events." However, to survive here, one must hold firmly to a belief: the First Commandment: "There are no ghosts in this world!" Yet, there are indeed ghosts in this world, and several bizarre suicide cases that have occurred over the past month catch Li Guoqiang's attention. Through investigation, he discovers that the spirit of Chen Fulai has not lost its murderous intent; it can possess anyone by touching them and manipulate their bodies at will. To subdue the killer, Officer Li and Inspector Huang join forces in an intense chase. However, during this time, Li Guoqiang gradually finds it hard to distinguish whether Inspector Huang, who has always been supporting him, is friend or foe.
