Jungle, demons, and a mysterious young woman: Mexican director Yuleni Olejuelas' new film delves into the mythological world of the Maya. In 1920, in the green wasteland between Mexico and Belize. A group of Mexicans is tapping on the bark of trees in the primal forest, a sticky substance that the Maya used for chewing gum. Suddenly, the men discover an unconscious young woman and bring her to their camp. The appearance of this mysterious stranger raises tension among the men and sparks their imagination. One by one, they fall under her spell, but it's too late; they realize they have awakened the Maya demoness Xtabay lying in wait at the heart of the jungle.
