The Cultural Revolution swept across China, toppling all reactionaries and evil spirits. Zhang Shiyi (played by Zheng Zeshi), a descendant of Master Zhang, was no exception and faced the onslaught of revolutionary youth led by his own son. His family possesses an ancestral cauldron, which is said to have been the work of a disciple of Master Zhang 500 years ago, who committed crimes, prompting the master to send another disciple to capture the villain in the cauldron. Zhang Shiyi desperately protects the cauldron and, in a moment of crisis, throws it into the sea. Not long after, Qi Dachuan (played by Feng Cuifan) acquires this cauldron at a charity auction in Hong Kong. Qi's girlfriend Mable calls upon an old accomplice—deceptive street sorcerer Chen Baitong (played by Chen Bajian) to predict their fortune; unexpectedly, Chen inadvertently uncovers the seal within. As night falls, when Qi's son Tianyou (played by Jacky Cheung) is trying to scare his girlfriend A Cat, the evil spirit inside the cauldron suddenly appears. People scare each other, ghosts scare people, and people scare ghosts, leading to extreme terror. Soon, a fierce ghost possesses someone, causing chaos in Hong Kong.
On the other side, Zhang Shiyi also makes his way to Hong Kong, shrouded in ominous clouds...
