General Liu Zhong, born in 1906 in Caixi Village, Caixi Town, Shanghang County. In 1927, he joined the Caixi District Peasant Association, and in 1929, he participated in leading the Caixi peasant uprising. He joined the Communist Party that same year and joined the Red Army, making an indelible contribution to the founding of New China.
