In the late 10th century, after the sudden death of Sviatopolk, the supreme ruler of Kievan Rus, the kingdom was shaken and political turmoil erupted. Three princes, supported by the nobility of their respective duchies, fought for the throne. Vladimir was the youngest and weakest of the three princes, and he was undervalued by his family as he was considered the "bastard" child of his father and a maid. Following his father’s unexpected death and the oldest prince's treachery to seize the throne from the second prince, this timid prince, with the help of his father's advisor Nield, organized a fierce band of Viking pirates from his family's homeland to take revenge on his brother and the foreigner who killed his father. What awaited him were the iron-willed warriors of the oldest prince, the impregnable fortress of Polotsk, the powerful Turkic cavalry, and wicked pagan curses; he would also face the stunning beauty of Rogneda from the Rus duchy, the enigmatic and mysterious grand princess, as well as schemes of power, seduction, assassination, despair, and betrayal, not to mention the powerful Byzantine Empire… How will the iron-willed emperor Vladimir enact his "Prince's Revenge"?
