Lo Pei (played by Ti Long) has just been released from prison and decides to turn over a new leaf. However, when he goes to the bank to withdraw money, he is taken hostage by robber Wu Chengcai (played by Wu Yaohan). Unfortunately, the police mistakenly believe that Lo and Wu are in cahoots for this robbery. During the robbery, Lo Pei is injured, and Wu Chengcai takes him home to treat his wounds. In the process, Lo learns that Wu's motive for robbing the bank is to raise money for his sick daughter. Feeling empathy for Wu's plight, Lo decides to help Wu and his daughter escape from Hong Kong. To purchase fake passports, Lo angers the gang leader Cheung (played by Lin Cong). To protect Wu and his daughter, Lo arranges for them to hide at his girlfriend's house before planning to get them on a boat to escape. Just when they discover that Wu's daughter Xiao Mei has miraculously recovered, and everyone is delighted, Cheung and his men track them down with the intention of harming them.
