The most suspicious culprit is a South Korean soldier also stationed at the border, but the South accuses North Korea of instigating the incident first, with both sides believing that the other should be responsible for it. To resolve this unresolved case, both the North and South agree to have a neutral country conduct an investigation. A South Korean girl of Swiss nationality, Sophie (played by Lee Young-ae), is dispatched to investigate the incident. On the South Korean side, Lee Soo-hyuk (played by Lee Byung-hun) remains silent, while the North Korean survivor, Oh Kyeong-pil (played by Song Kang-ho), displays hostility, making the situation unclear. As Sophie delves deeper, she discovers hidden secrets, and there are others present at the scene...
