The story takes place in 17th century France, where Anna (Gabrielle Anwar) inadvertently gifts the jewelry given to her by the King (Hugh O'Conor) to her lover, the Duke of Buckingham. Minister Richelieu discovers this and sees it as a great opportunity to further his own ambitions. A common young man, D'Artagnan (Chris O'Donnell), is determined to join the King's Musketeers. In an unexpected turn of events, he meets three musketeers: Athos (Kiefer Sutherland), Porthos (Tim Curry), and Aramis (Charlie Sheen). D'Artagnan joins their ranks, and their destination is England, where they must recover the Duke of Buckingham's jewelry before the King discovers the truth.
