In response to the escalating greenhouse effect, countries around the world launched coolant code-named CW-7 in 2014, unknowingly pushing the Earth into an irretrievable deep freeze. Most of humanity perished from the cold and panic, leaving only a few thousand who boarded the train developed by Wilford Industries, becoming eternal wanderers. This train, powered by the perpetual motion engine created by Wilford (played by Ed Harris), is equipped with various complete facilities, establishing its own independent ecosystem over the next seventeen years, continuously traveling along a 438,000-kilometer long journey. The lower-class people living in the rear carriages have long suffered oppression, and they have staged several uprisings in the past to fight for freedom and power, all of which have ended in failure. This time, the charismatic leader Curtis (played by Chris Evans) attempts to find the imprisoned security designer Namgoong Minsoo (played by Song Kang-ho), using his help to unlock the heavy door to the front car and overturn Wilford's rule. At the start of the new year, a bloody revolution is underway... This film is based on the French comic "Le Transperceneige."
