This film tells the love story between Akbar the Great (played by Hrithik Roshan), the third monarch of the Mughal Empire in the 16th century, and his wife, the Rajput princess Jodha (played by Aishwarya Rai). To establish a vast empire, Akbar waged battles, expanding his dominion from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Godavari River after conquering the Hindu Kush mountains. As a ruler who was a lifelong believer in Islam, Akbar performed a royal marriage with a Hindu Rajput to show respect for Hindus. This won him the allegiance of the Rajputs, greatly strengthening his power. However, Princess Jodha was unwilling to be a pawn in religious politics and court intrigues, harboring deep resentment. In the end, can Akbar, who fought on the battlefield, win the heart of Princess Jodha and attain true love?
