With a single command from the president, a tough crackdown on drugs begins, and the police, under the pretext of justice, do not spare anyone, even if they kill the wrong person. The police carefully deploy to capture the big drug lord in Manila, and the criminals face immediate retribution. The “Drug War” boasts of its victories, but unbeknownst to them, a detective and an informant secretly take a dive, pocketing both the drugs and the money. The use of carrier pigeons and diapers for drug trafficking seems infallible, yet in the crow’s world, a net of justice looms. Putting aside the sympathetic shots from "Rashomon" (41st), Mendoza, through realistic police and gangster action, continues his political declaration: as the national anthem plays, a grand march begins and concludes; amidst the glory, decay has already covertly seeped in. Winner of the Jury Special Prize at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
