Da Igarashi was born in a small port town in Miyagi Prefecture and was raised by his deaf-mute parents who loved him. Serving as a "translator" for his mother was part of his daily routine. However, gradually, he could no longer bear the strange looks from those around him, creating a rift between him and his mother. Finally, at the age of 20, he ran away from home to Tokyo... Director Miho Wu’s 2014 work "Only There Shines" won the top spot in the annual best ten by "Cinema Journal" that year and represented Japan in the Oscar race for Best Foreign Language Film. Afterward, she left film production for a time, and this film marks her return after nine years, focusing on the identity dilemmas faced by minority groups and the everyday emotions between parents and children. Ryo Yoshizawa plays the protagonist who struggles between the "voiced" and "silent" worlds, with a significant amount of silent sign language performances that leave a lasting impression.
