Ah Yau (played by Louis Koo) and Ah Ru (played by Sandra Ng) are a married couple who are addicted to gambling. Unfortunately, their bad luck leads to a difficult life, and they often have to think of ways to delay the rent payment for their home where Ah Ru’s brother, Ah Ming (played by Hung Yi Shan), is also staying. In their building, there is a haunted room where a dancer once committed suicide, and a high monk comes every year to perform rituals for the deceased. One day, Ah Yau and his wife witness a gambler winning big and learn from their old friend, Brother Ching (played by Yuen Cheung Yan), that the gambler used the “吸材气” (Xī cái qì) technique from Maoshan to turn his luck around. However, they are bound by the ghost's condition that "all the money won must be spent before 7 PM every day," which makes spending the winnings a nerve-wracking experience. One day, unexpected events finally occur...
